Who we are
MAT Hockey combines professional hockey experience, athletic development, management expertise and first-hand knowledge of academic and competitive pathways.

A former professional player, Mathieu played nearly 900 games over a 16-season career. He is now a school-level head coach and has coached young male and female players for 10 years.
His journey was shaped by challenges, adjustments and perseverance. At 14, he left home to pursue his dream without the structured guidance of qualified people who could support every dimension of his development.
Today, he shares that experience to help every athlete reach their full potential and understand the many opportunities available in hockey.

A business leader and lifelong hockey enthusiast, Nyk has spent 25 years in the game at different levels and in a variety of management roles.
As an advisor and consultant, he helps players and their families understand their options. His knowledge of the network also helps them discover lesser-known programs that may be an excellent fit.
His approach places the well-being of the young athlete and their family at the centre of every decision. The right environment should support athletic progress, academic success and personal balance.
