Pathway Plan • Prep Schools and academies

Step outside the traditional system and aim further.

The Pathway Plan is designed for players who want to experience a Canadian or American Prep School, learn English while continuing their education, and compete within respected hockey programs across North America. MAT Hockey 360 supports the family at every stage, from the initial reflection to the final decision.

Who is the Pathway Plan for?

Players ready to turn ambition into a concrete plan.

Choosing a Prep School or academy is about more than finding a team. It means identifying an environment where the player can progress on the ice, succeed academically, become more independent and grow as a person.

01

Experience a different path

For players ready to step outside the traditional system and explore opportunities in Canada and the United States.

02

Study and learn English

For student-athletes who want a serious academic pathway while improving their English in an immersive environment.

03

Find the right program

For players seeking a Prep School or academy that truly fits their level, goals and family reality.

What the agency handles

Every step is prepared with the family.

We reduce uncertainty, structure the process and help the family compare opportunities methodically. The exact scope depends on the number of target schools, their requirements and how far the family has progressed.

01

Target the right Prep Schools

Build a list of schools aligned with the player’s athletic level, academic record, maturity, family goals and financial capacity.

02

Contact programs

Connect with Prep Schools, admissions teams and coaches to understand each program and identify needs or roster opportunities for the following season.

03

Complete applications

Coordinate and complete forms, profiles, timelines and required documents in collaboration with the family.

04

Prepare financial-aid applications

Support the family in gathering information, preparing the file and meeting the deadlines required by each school and application platform.

05

Entrance and English tests

Identify required tests, plan registrations and prepare the student-athlete for expectations. Tests are always completed personally by the student.

06

Transcripts and school documents

Organize report cards, confirm requirements and coordinate translations when necessary so the academic file is complete and easy to review.

07

Letters of recommendation

Identify the right references, share instructions and follow up so recommendations are submitted correctly and on time.

08

Student and parent essays

Support the structure, drafting and review of the candidate statement and parent statement. Final submissions remain authentic and true to each author’s ideas and voice.

09

Interviews and school visits

Prepare the student and parents for meetings, organize visits and provide a practical framework for comparing each environment objectively.

10

Promotional video

Plan the content, select relevant footage and prepare a video that clearly presents the student-athlete’s profile and strengths.

A three-way collaboration

The consultant coordinates. The family decides. The student-athlete remains at the centre.

Nyk prepares the tools, explains the options, tracks deadlines and facilitates communication. The student and parents validate all information, participate in interviews and sign every document submitted in their name.

Centralized deadline calendar Review of every file before submission Follow-up on school communications Structured comparison of opportunities

First step

Tell us about the student-athlete’s profile and goals.

An initial meeting will confirm possible schools, the timeline, work already completed and the appropriate scope of the mandate.

Discuss the Pathway Plan

First meeting

Let’s talk about the player before the program.

Tell us where the player is today, what they hope to achieve and what your family would like to clarify.
